Oda Nobunaga was a masterful strategist, and a ruthless Daimyō, who brought Japan to the edge of unification by way of swords and guns. In 1582, on the verge of achieving complete unification, he was betrayed by his vassal, Akechi Mitsuhide, at the Honnō-Ji Temple where he committed honorable seppuku in the face of defeat. This event, known as the Honnō-Ji incident, led to his successors finally unifying Japan and ushering in peace.

This bottle reflects the bold and innovative nature of Nobunaga, taking 15-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon and finishing it in Louisville for an additional period in ex-Japanese whisky casks from Chichibu, Japan.
